Vanderbilt Scuffle Leads to Suspension For Neloms.

Per NCAA rules Martavius Neloms will sit out the first half against UT at Neyland stadium. The SEC could have issued further punishment but instead chose that the NCAA mandated suspension was sufficient. As a defensive guy I generally approve of raw agression at all times, however this was not a smart move on the part of the Sophomore. You have to play smart. If you have a big lead in the 4th quarter you have to think about what youre doing in a situation like that. You simply have to have control of your emotions regardless of what an opposing player does or says. I understand it was probably a gut reaction on the part of Neloms ,as Im sure it wouldve taken alot of restraint to take a punch and not retaliate but he has to think of the team.We certainly need everything we have in order to walk into Neyland Stadium and break the streak. While I understand his actions, it is frustrating that he could not exercise better self control. As Joker said "We will not be that team that has personal fouls" Football is a game of emotions but sometimes youve just got to control them.
